Sinyi Achieves CDP Climate Change A List for Second Time

CDP

Sinyi Realty is proud to announce its inclusion in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) Climate Change Questionnaire ”A List” for 2023, marking our second time receiving this highest grade recognition.

In 2023, over 21,000 companies worldwide participated in the CDP evaluation, with only 346 achieving “A-list” status. Among these, just 18 companies from Taiwan made this achievement, with Sinyi Realty being the sole representative from the real estate sector in Taiwan.

Our success in this evaluation stems from our comprehensive climate governance strategy. At Sinyi, we’ve integrated climate change considerations into our corporate risk management framework. Our Board of Directors serves as the highest supervisory unit for risk management, identifying high-risk climate factors and developing corresponding governance strategies and goals.

We’ve embraced transparency in our climate-related disclosures, aligning with the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) framework. Our TCFD report has been independently verified, earning us a conformity statement with a maturity model rating of [Level 5 plus: Excellence].

Sinyi Realty has set ambitious targets for 2030, including a 90% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to 2017 levels and achieving 100% renewable energy usage. Since 2017, we’ve expanded our greenhouse gas inventory to cover all our branch locations, with 100% of our operational sites completing ISO 14064-1 greenhouse gas inventories.

We’re actively participating in domestic and international sustainability initiatives, including CDP, SBTi, the UN’s Race to Zero campaign, and the Taiwan Net Zero Action Alliance. Our efforts have been recognized with a “Green Level” Net Zero Label.

To make truly meaningful reductions in harm to the environment, businesses must cascade action down the entire supply chain. We implement innovative approaches like “show-case house” ground projection to reduce construction materials and costs for reception centers. We’re also encouraging our key upstream and downstream suppliers to conduct GHG emissions (scope 2) of energy survey, promoting a collective effort towards carbon reduction. We’re proud to have earned a place as a leading company on CDP’s 2023 Supplier Engagement Leaderboard, for taking action to measure and reduce climate risk within our supply chain.

Disclosing and sharing environmental information is a crucial first step in taking meaningful climate action. Sinyi Realty is honored to be among the companies committed to environmental transparency through CDP in 2023.
