In addition, we respond to the International Net Zero Emissions Initiative. We have planned to make the Mengalum Island of Malaysia the first zero-carbon island with a new form of tourism. All developments on the island from construction, operation, and demolition will be net-zero emissions. Now we are doing the restoration on and around the island as well as investigating proper natural based solutions locally. Currently, we are still in a stage of soil improvement and hydrological investigation and continuing to carry out ecological restoration on the island and the surrounding sea areas. We are planning a new type of tourism model since we want to bring tourists an innovative and sustainable experience in order to promote the concept of net zero from our services.

Conservation and restoration of Mengalum Island

In April 2024, the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency launched a matchmaking platform to promote public-private partnerships. We selected a reforestation and nurturing project in Taitung County that focuses not only on natural carbon sequestration but also biodiversity benefits. Sinyi Realty is among the first 11 companies successfully matched through this initiative. Unlike traditional donation models, this project involves the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency's Taitung branch providing land, while Sinyi Realty takes charge of planning, funding, and executing reforestation, nurturing, and biodiversity conservation. Through this public-private partnership, we actively engage in forest management to achieve sustainable goals in natural resource management, biodiversity conservation, environmental protection, and social responsibility, while enhancing natural carbon sinks and promoting biodiversity benefits.We prioritize local and indigenous forestry teams to support employment, increase incomes, and encourage youth to participate in reforestation.
